Jey is a highly successful, influential and strategic business leader recognised for his experience in the commercial and technical industry. Jey Jeynathan - My Story
Jey was a Corporate executive in IT in London for 21 years. After years of hard work and commitment, he realised that he wanted the freedom of being his own boss and earning much more of the pie. Here is a short interview with Jey:
1) Why did you start LMB?
I knew there were a LOT of people who felt the same as myself. Perhaps disgruntled with their job, boss, reliance on a salary (or salary-slave as I called it), risk of redundancy, etc. So I decided to create a central resource of tried and tested internet business models to help others wanting to go on the same journey.
2) What was the turning point?
Like many entrepreneurs, I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad which was a lightbulb moment for me and inspired me to begin my entrepreneurial journey. My underlying interest lay with internet and automated business models. I tried many business models and spent a lot of money. I tried launching a Tech Startup, Franchising, investment schemes...Some worked, Even more failed!
I almost came to the point several times where I did think I was not cut out for it.
Perhaps I should have returned to my job but thankfully I persevered and generated a healthy income from my portfolio of businesses.
3) Which factors pushed you to do it?
Like most people, I had a career. 9-5 job, working in the City for over 20 years in the IT sector. I progressed to a Director level role, however no matter what job title you have, you are still reporting to somebody; or as I used to to call it "Somebody else's B!tc#". Perhaps it was a mid-life crisis ;-)
4) How did it change your life?
There have been a number of changes, however the biggest change would be
time-freedom. I would class this above financial freedom.I am free to conduct each day as I see fit. I don't have a boss chasing me, or expecting me in the office.
I can choose to work at home, office or coffee-shop or not at all, spending time at home with the family should I wish. Therefore, I can conduct each day on my own terms, which was something I could never do before.
5) What is the mission and purpose of LMB?
Something inside ate away at me, not wanting to answer to my boss or anyone else and also the fact of having to rely on one source of income.
6) Why do you love LMB?
All the reasons above! I get to mix business and pleasure :-)
7) What is the ultimate aim and vision of LMB?
I decided to create a central resource of tried and tested internet business models to help others wanting to go on the same entrepreneurial journey.
